Mpls. Officials: Men Tried To Kidnap Woman Outside Of Store

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minneapolis city officials say several men tried to kidnap a woman in broad daylight as she walked up to a store Thursday afternoon.

The woman says she was about to go into a business on the 300 block of Lake Street West at about 3 p.m. Several men were standing outside, one of whom grabbed her by the wrist and said, "Get in the car."

The woman pulled away and entered the store, and the men fled in a light-colored car. The men are described as Somali males between the ages of 18 and 25.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call Minneapolis Police's tip line at 612-692-8477. People can also text their tips to 847411, then type "MPD" and the tip. Tips can also be sent anonymously via MPD's Tip 411 app.
