Mpls. Man Convicted In Woodbury Jewelry Store Armed Robbery

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A Minneapolis man was convicted Friday in an armed robbery of a Woodbury jewelry store that occurred last June.

According to County Attorney Pete Orput, Erick Larkins, 47, was convicted of aiding and abetting aggravated robbery in the first degree.

Trial testimony states Larkins cased the jewelry store several times prior to the robbery.

On the day of the robbery, Thomas Jones and Larkins drove to the store. Jones entered and Larkin acted as a lookout.

At the same time an employee arrived and saw what was occurring between Jones and Larkin. The employee then alerted a nearby Woodbury police officer.

According another employee that is when Jones began to panic.

Jones ultimately committed suicide in the store and Larkins fled

Larkins' sentencing is set for May 10, 2015.
