Mpls. Man Convicted In Serial Killings Dies In Prison

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A Minneapolis man convicted of killing three women in the 1980's has died in prison.

Billy Glaze was convicted in 1989 of killing Kathleen Bullman, Angelina Whitebird Sweet and Angela Green. They were raped, murdered and mutilated in similar ways.

The Minnesota Innocence Project had been arguing in court that new DNA testing linked another man to the murders and did not link Glaze to the crimes.

Prosecutors had used circumstantial evidence to tie Glaze, a drifter, to the killings.

Glaze was serving time in a Delaware prison.

His attorney said Glaze was diagnosed with stage-four lung cancer late last week. He died Tuesday at the age of 72.
