Mpls. Firefighters, Police To Battle For BBQ Supremacy

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minneapolis' fire and police departments will engage in a friendly duel Saturday afternoon -- and barbecue will be their weapon of choice!

The third-annual "Battle of the Badges and the People's BBQ" will feature officers from Minneapolis Police, Park Police and firefighters duking it out for the title of "Best Ribs in the City."

The Minnesota BBQ Society will also be on hand to provide free smoky goodness for all in attendance.

The crowd will also enjoy live music from acts such as Sounds of Blackness, Paris Bennett, Javonta Patterson & DFY, James Grear & Co. and Jamecia Bennet.

The Battle of the Badges will be at North Commons Park at 1801 James Avenue North Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
