Mounds View deaths being investigated as murder-suicide, police say

Wildfires still out of control in northern Minnesota, and more headlines

Police say two deaths inside a Mounds View, Minnesota, home are being investigated as a murder-suicide.

Officers responded to a welfare check call just before 8 p.m. Sunday off Greenwood Drive, a few blocks southwest of Mounds View City Hall.

They arrived to see "someone exhibiting signs of trauma inside" the home, police say, and found the victims with apparent gunshot wounds. Officers also found a gun inside.

A medical examiner identified the deceased as 48-year-old Aaron Johnson of Minneapolis and 50-year-old Robert Bostic of Mounds View. Johnson died of multiple gunshot wounds and his death was ruled a homicide, while Bostic died by suicide, police said.
