Motorcyclist Dies After Fleeing Police, Crashing

JUNEAU, Wis. (AP) — A Horicon man has died after he allegedly fled from authorities on a motorcycle, left the roadway then crashed into a power pole.

Authorities say the crash happened shortly before midnight Saturday in Dodge County. The sheriff's office says the motorcyclist failed to stop for a deputy, then fled at a high speed.

Less than a minute later, the motorcycle left the roadway and struck a power pole.

Speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in the crash.

The man's name was not immediately released and the crash was being investigated by the Wisconsin State Patrol.
