Motorcyclist Collides With Deer In Benton Co.

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A motorcyclist was seriously injured Sunday night after colliding with a deer in Benton County.

The sheriff's office says the crash happened at about 7:25 p.m. on Little Rock Road Northeast, about one mile east of Highway 10.

Twenty-year-old Brandon Ringwelski of Rice was driving eastbound on Little Rock Road when a deer came onto the roadway.

He hit the deer and drove for about another 100 feet before entering a ditch, at which point he was ejected from the motorcycle.

Authorities say Ringwelski was wearing a helmet and riding gear. He was taken to St. Cloud Hospital.

The Benton County Sheriff's Office is investigating.
