Motherwell Added To Minnesota Coaching Staff

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minnesota women's basketball coach Marlene Stollings has added John "Mo" Motherwell to her coaching staff.

The university said Monday that Motherwell will serve as assistant coach and be involved in Gophers recruiting.

Motherwell has coached at North Dakota, Milwaukee, Minnesota State Moorhead, Concordia-St. Paul and the College of St. Scholastica.

As an assistant at Moorhead from 2000-05, Motherwell helped the Dragons to a school record 24 wins, their first conference title in 20 years and an appearance in the NCAA Division II Tournament.

The Gophers hired Stollings in April after firing Pam Borton.
