More Road Closures To Affect Weekend Traffic

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- In case you weren't already keeping track of enough detours around the Twin Cities, get ready to add another potential headache to the pile.

Starting Friday at 10 p.m., eastbound traffic on Interstate 394 shifts into two HOV lanes so crews can do pavement work between Highway 100 in Golden Valley and Interstate 94 in Minneapolis.

The project is expected to last for about two weeks. The Minnesota Department of Transportation said drivers should plan for significant delays like when crews worked on the westbound lanes.

Eastbound I-94 is also closing in St. Paul this weekend between Highway 280 and 35E as part of the Snelling Avenue Bridge project. The interstate should reopen by Monday morning's commute.
