Moorhead Woman Escapes After Car Crashes Into House

MOORHEAD, Minn. (AP/WCCO) — A woman asleep in her Moorhead home escaped injury when a pickup truck crashed into her bedroom wall.

Police say 33-year-old Aaron Michael Johnson from Ransom, North Dakota has been arrested for drunken driving and other charges. Moorhead police say the crash shortly before 1 a.m. Friday caused substantial damage to the house, but did not break through the wall. Authorities say the driver lost control of the vehicle, crashed through a cedar fence in the backyard and hit the house.

Police say he left the scene of the crash and was found across the street. Officers say the driver had a blood alcohol content of 0.18. He was taken to the Clay County Jail.
