'Mogadishu, Minnesota' Cast, Crew Film At Lake Calhoun

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Film crews busied themselves around Lake Calhoun Thursday afternoon, as HBO continued to shoot "Mogadishu, Minnesota."

The HBO drama follows a Somali-American family based in Minneapolis.

The crew was set up on the southern shores of Lake Calhoun, with a large green screen and multiple trucks and trailers.

According to the Star Tribune, 90 percent of the crew being used for the project are local. In addition, locations across the Twin Cities, many in the Cedar-Riverside neighborhood, will be featured in the show.

Kathryn Bigelow is one of the producers behind the project. She is best known for "Zero Dark Thirty," and "The Hurt Locker," which won the Oscar for best picture in 2009.
