MOA's New 'Star Trek' Exhibit Boldly Goes, Etc.

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (WCCO) -- The Mall of America is ready to help Twin Cities residents and visitors alike boldly go where no man has gone before.

The mall is unveiling "Star Trek: The Exhibition" this Friday, and Edward Moody was there Wednesday morning to make a fresh notation in his captain's log.

Moody talked with spokesperson Dan Jasper, who claimed that this exhibit marks one of the largest collections of authentic "Trek" artifacts and memorabilia ever placed on display in the United States.

Among the things guests will be treated to will be a life-size replica of the original Starship Enterprise bridge -- allowing guests to actually sit in Captain Kirk's chair -- along with a sick bay, a phaser, lithium crystal and more.

"Star Trek: The Exhibition" will be at Mall of America beginning May 16. Summer hours begin on June 9 and continue through September 2. Click here for more information.
