MOA Owners May Build Larger Mall In Miami

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The company that owns the Mall of America may be one-upping itself with an even larger mall and entertainment complex in Miami.

According to a report from CBS Miami, Triple Five is pursuing plans to build American Dream Miami, which would cover 200 acres.

The project would cost a reported $4 billion to construct, and would feature submarine rides in a lake, an artificial ski slope with 800 feet of artificial powder, a Ferris wheel, a rollercoaster, and even a 500-foot observation tower.

Triple Five said it plans to employ 25,000 people during construction, and create that many permanent jobs once open.

A spokesperson released the following statement on behalf of Triple Five: "Similar to our other projects, we intend to capture the very best elements of West Edmonton Mall, Mall of America and American Dream. Like our other properties, American Dream - Miami will generate tens of thousands of jobs and have an annual economic impact for the State of Florida in the billions."
