Report: MnSCU System To Get A New Name

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system, or MnSCU, is getting a new name.

The Pioneer Press reported the public college and university system will now be known as Minnesota State.

The chancellor said the name MnSCU has been found to be confusing in brand research.

The system paid more than $270,000 to a public relations firm to research this, and there's another $345,000 contract out to help rebrand.

What will soon be Minnesota State plans to begin updating logos online in the coming weeks and do a comprehensive rollout of the new brand in July.
