MNfusion: Fresh-Pressed Juice Cocktails From Prairie Organic
Minnesotans got a taste of spring last Saturday as temperatures soared into the high 50s.
With the literal breath of fresh air, spring fever is alive and well. So, what better way to medicate than with a fresh-pressed juice cocktail?
Local distillery Prairie Organic concocted some potions that are sure to help curb your craving for spring.

Fresh Garden Blitz
Ingredients:
1 1/2 oz. Prairie Cucumber-Flavored Organic Vodka
3/4 oz. blood orange juice
1/2 oz. soda water or tonic water
3/4 oz. sweet honey-cucumber water*
2 Tbsp honey
Cucumber slice for garnish (optional)
Blood orange slice for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
Add ingredients to your carbonator of choice (soda water or tonic water), then pour into glass over ice. Garnish with a cucumber and blood orange slice (optional).
*To make honey-cucumber water, dilute honey in water that has cucumber slices marinating in it.
The Green Giant
Ingredients
2 oz. Prairie Organic Vodka
4 sugar snap peas, plus more for garnish
1 sprig tarragon
1 oz. lemon juice
1/2 oz. dry vermouth
3/4 oz. honey
Instructions:
Muddle four sugar snap peas and 10 – 12 tarragon leaves in honey. Add remaining ingredients, shake with ice and strain into a rocks glass over crushed ice. Garnish with two sugar snap peas.
Bright Prairie
Ingredients:
1 1/2 oz. Prairie Organic Gin
1/2 cup organic carrots, rinsed
1/2 cups fresh pineapple, peeled
1 lime, peeled
1 orange, peeled
Club soda (optional)
Instructions:
Cut carrots and pineapple to size. Combine with lime and orange to juice. Strain contents into large sealable jar half filled with ice. Pour juice and gin into glasses over ice. Splash of club soda to taste (optional).
