MnDOT: Slow Down In Construction Zones Over Memorial Day Weekend

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- If you're going to be out driving over Memorial Day Weekend, the Minnesota Department of Transportation wants to remind you to slow down when you're going through construction zones.

The holiday weekend is often a busy time for driving as we travel for family events or head out for a relaxing weekend at the cabin. It also serves as a good reminder to slow down as we drive through work zones. MnDOT officials said some projects will be suspended over Memorial Day Weekend, but many others will go on as scheduled and could cause some delays across the state.

In the Twin Cities metro, there are multiple lamp and lane closures on Interstate 494 in Plymouth. Other lane and ramp closures include Interstate 35E in St. Paul and Little Canada, Highway 100 in St. Louis Park and Highway 169 in Jordan.

There are narrowed lanes and reduced speeds on I-94 between Rogers and St. Michael, and Highway 95 in Cambridge is closed over the Rum River Bridge.

Check the MnDOT web site for delays and changes before you hit the road for the holiday weekend.
