MnDOT Reopens I-94 After Scheduled Construction Finishes Early

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Despite a scheduled construction closure, a major highway between the Twin Cities is open in both directions Saturday evening.

Interstate 94 in St. Paul was scheduled to be closed in both directions Highway 280 and Interstate 35E until Monday morning,

Construction crews with Xcel Energy were relocating power lines in the area, but a spokesperson from the Minnesota Department of Transportation said the construction was finished early due to fair weather.

Meanwhile, Northbound 494 between 394 in Minnetonka and I-94 in Maple Grove remains closed. The southbound lanes will be shut down by Sunday night, and all work will be complete by Monday morning.
