Minnesota Weather: Cooler, Drier Air Moves In After Rain Graces Drought-Stricken State
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Tuesday's rainfall was just what the doctor ordered for Minnesota's drought conditions.
Widespread rain fell across the state, with southern Minnesota getting the heaviest precipitation. The threat for severe weather fizzled out by late Tuesday night, with rain leaving the state just after midnight.
The cooler and drier air following Tuesday's storms are here to stay. The dew point will tumble by more than 20 degrees overnight, with low humidity holding steady through the weekend.
Wednesday's high temperature in the Twin Cities will only reach 71, which is 13 degrees below average, and 25 degrees cooler than Monday's high temperature.
Highs will be in the mid-70s for Thursday and Friday, the latter being our next shot at rainfall. Temperatures will reach back into the low 80s by this weekend, which is average for this time of year.
