Minnesota United Hires Amos Magee For Front Office Job

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — MLS expansion team Minnesota United FC has named Amos Magee the club's first director of player personnel.

The team announced Wednesday that Magee will work under sporting director Manny Lagos to develop a strategic vision, assist in international scouting and work with the coaching staff to construct the roster. Magee has been an assistant coach for D.C. United for the last three years.

Minnesota will join MLS in 2017 and move into its new stadium in 2018. The venue is less than 3 miles from where Magee attended high school with Lagos at St. Paul Academy. Magee became the all-time leading scorer at Wesleyan University and the all-time leading scorer for the minor league Minnesota Thunder. He also played briefly for Tampa Bay and Chicago in MLS.
