MN State Patrol: Hay Bales Fall Of Truck Trailer & Strike Jeep; 4 Injured

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Four people have suffered injuries after a hay bale fell off of a truck trailer and struck the vehicle they were traveling in Sunday evening.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the incident occurred shortly before 10 p.m. in Douglas County on Highway 114 at milepost 18. Six round hay bales fell off a trailer pulled by a Chevrolet Silverado and then struck a Jeep Grand Cherokee traveling northbound on the same road.

The Jeep then went off the right side of the roadway. Its four occupants, ages ranging from 54 to 89 years old, suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The condition of the 38-year-old truck driver and another 58-year-old person involved in the incident were not documented.
