McCollum Re-Elected, Will Serve 9th Term In 4th District

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Incumbent Democratic U.S. Representative Betty McCollum has won re-election in Minnesota's 4th District.

Rep. Betty McCollum defeated Republican candidate Greg Ryan and Susan Pendergast Sindt with the Legal Marijuana Now party in Tuesday's election.

Rep. McCollum is currently a member of the U.S. House Appropriations Committee, serving on the subcommittees of Defense and Interior and Environment. She has been outspoken for social and economic equality, including campaigning for affordable health care and tuition.

Minnesota's 4th District has voted Democrat for several decades, with Rep. McCollum serving eight consecutive terms since 2001.

The district includes nearly all of Ramsey County, including St. Paul, Maplewood, Stillwater, White Bear Lake and Woodbury.
