Missouri Man Dies In Blaine Workplace Accident

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities say a man from Missouri died Tuesday morning in a workplace accident at a business in Blaine.

The Blaine Police Department received a report at about 8:55 a.m. of an accident/medical situation at a business on the 10700 block of Mankato Street in Blaine. When officers and paramedics arrived, they located the victim and immediately began first aid efforts.

The victim, identified as a man in his late 20s, was unloading a large diameter plastic pipe from a semi-truck trailer when a piece fell on him. He was taken to Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids with critical injuries, where he was later pronounced dead.

The victim has not been named. The incident is under investigation by several agencies, including Blaine police, the Anoka County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division, the Anoka County Sheriff's Office Crime Scene Unit and the Minnesota Department of Occupational Safety and Health.
