Crews Search For Missing Man In Western Wisconsin

MENOMONIE, Wis. (AP) — Authorities are continuing to search for a man who went missing on the Red Cedar River in Dunn County.

A statement from the Dunn County Sheriff's Office says the man slipped and fell in the fast-moving water Tuesday evening when he was walking along the edge of the river near an area known as the Russian Slough.

The Dunn County Sheriff's Office, Menomonie Fire Department and Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources responded to the scene. The search for the man was suspended at nightfall Tuesday and resumed Wednesday morning.

The sheriff's office says the river's high water and strong current have made the search difficult.
