Missing St. Louis County Hunter Found Safe

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A hunter who went missing in St. Louis County Thursday evening was found safe in Portage Township.

According to the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office, around 7 p.m. officers received a call from a hunting party who said one of their hunters did not return.

The caller said 72-year-old Ronald Freundl was hunting near Echo Rapids Road when he went missing.

The St. Louis County Volunteer Rescue squad began a search. Around 10:30 a.m. Freundl was located about a mile from where he was last seen.

Freundl was safe, but wet and cold. He was taken to the hospital as a precaution for possible hypothermia.
