Missing Hunter Found Dead In Central Minnesota Lake

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Officials in central Minnesota say a missing hunter was found dead over the weekend.

The Pope County Sheriff's Office says 40-year-old Jon Donald Kloos, of rural Glenwood, went missing last Friday near Rolling Forks Township.

Searchers found an empty canoe on Anderson Lake.

On Saturday, divers from Pope and Douglas counties pulled Kloos' body from the water.

Investigators believe Kloos was likely canoeing to an island on the lake to hunt deer.

The Midwest Medical Examiner's Office will determine Kloos' cause of death.
