Missing 6-year-old boy from Roseville, Minnesota, found safe after search
A 6-year-old Roseville, Minnesota, boy who went missing Tuesday morning has been found safe after an hourslong search.
Ashley White said her son Kamryn slipped out of the house around 7:40 a.m., and she started frantically searching, as did the Roseville Police Department.
Drones were dispatched in the all-hands-on-deck search around 900 Sherren Street and beyond, according to Police Chief Erika Scheider, who said she called in all the available resources, with police staff working overtime hours.
"When you have a call like this, I mean, I'm a mom, your heart just absolutely breaks and you do everything you can and you call in every available resource you can to come and find this child," Scheider said.
Scheider said her department was just in the process of coordinating a community search group, and contemplating if an AMBER Alert was needed, when a firefighter found Kamryn crouching by a tree in a nearby yard around 2 p.m.
"I want to thank Roseville Police Department," White said. "As soon as I called them they were on it, looking for him nonstop. They got everyone involved that needed to involved help looking for him. My neighbors came out helping, they came and got us water. All my family and friends came out, just everybody that came and helped find Kamryn, I wanted to say thank you. I'm at a loss for words, I'm at like a mental block right now. I'm just happy that I got my son in my arms right now."
WCCO cameras caught the moment Kamryn was reunited with his family, receiving plenty of hugs as well as a big slushy.
