Minor Injuries For Pilot Who Crashed In Columbus, Sheriff's Office Says

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Authorities say a pilot sustained minor injuries when his plane crashed north of the metro Sunday morning.

The Anoka County Sheriff's Office said the man's ultralight aircraft lost power just after taking off around 9 a.m. and crashed near 145th Avenue Northeast and Lyons Street Northeast in Columbus.

He managed to get out of the aircraft on his own.

The crash is under investigation.
