Minnetonka Reaches Finals In Kraft Hockeyville Contest

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minnetonka hockey community is in the finals of this year's Kraft Hockeyville USA Contest.

It's one of 10 communities competing for $150,000 and the chance to host an NHL preseason game. The contest began with thousands of communities across the United States.

In Minnetonka, the hockey community is continuously working to raise money for the expansion of the Pagel Activity Center, adding a second sheet of ice. The goal is to help develop more than 1,000 boys and girls participating in the youth hockey program.

Funds were raised by hosting parties, bake sales, door-to-door campaigning and individual contributions.

Minnetonka can win the contest through an online vote. It started Monday and continues through Thursday.
