Minnesota's Zahui B Gets Big 10 Award Again

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minnesota's Amanda Zahui B. has been named the Big Ten women's basketball freshman of the week for the fifth time this season.

The award was announced on Tuesday. The 6-foot-5 center from Sweden posted her conference-leading 11th double-double with 23 points and 12 rebounds for the Gophers in a win over Illinois on Sunday. Zahui B. is 14th in blocks and 19th in rebounds nationally.

Zahui B. shortened her last name from Bazoukou so it would be easier to pronounce and fit on the back of her jersey. She redshirted last season.

The Gophers (15-9, 4-6) are unbeaten in February, with only two of their last six Big Ten games against teams currently ahead of them in the standings.
