Minnesota's Andre Hollins Hurts Left Ankle

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minnesota shooting guard Andre Hollins has injured his left ankle, forcing him out of the game against ninth-ranked Wisconsin just 16 seconds in.

Hollins swished a 15-foot jumper on the first possession of the game Thursday, but his left foot landed on Josh Gasser of the Badgers on the way down. His ankle rolled hard, and he writhed around in pain for a bit before being helped off the court without any weight on the left foot.

The junior is the leading scorer for the Gophers, averaging 16.2 points per game entering the night. Hollins was already bothered by a toe injury that has limited some of his explosiveness.

Malik Smith replaced Hollins in the lineup. The Gophers said his return was questionable.
