Minnesotans Getting Another Dose Of Arctic Cold

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minnesotans are getting a dose of old-fashioned cold weather.

Thanks to El Niño, the winter was off to a relatively mild start. But the National Weather Service says Minnesota is in for dangerously frigid weather this weekend.

Statewide, wind chills will drop to 35 to 45 degrees below zero Saturday night.

Highs Saturday were in the single digits above zero in southern Minnesota and ranged from zero to 10 below in the north.

A huge blob of arctic cold is crossing the Northern Plains and the Great Lakes as it moves eastward.

The cold weather is not expected to lift until Tuesday night. But much milder weather is expected later in the week.
