Minnesotan Delegation To Travel To Paris For Conference On Climate Change

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – In a couple weeks, a large group of Minnesotans will travel to Paris for a UN conference on climate change.

Wednesday morning at the Science Museum of Minnesota, St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman held a moment of silence for the people who died in Paris Friday.

Coleman will be leading this group to Paris, which he said can't be deterred by terrorists.

"By continuing this conference, obviously we want to be safe. I think that security measures are being put in place to assure the safety of folks, but at the end of the day we need to stand firm with Paris and let them know we care about what's happened over there," Coleman said.

The delegation going to Paris is with the Mississippi River Cities and Towns Initiative.

They will be talking about the importance of protecting the Mississippi River.
