Minnesota Woman Charged With Faking Pregnancies

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- Minnesota authorities have charged a woman who they say faked pregnancies to extort a man and stay out of jail.

Bethany Good is charged in Ramsey County with felony aggravated forgery and a misdemeanor charge of making a false statement in a birth registration for allegedly trying to extort money from a man. The 35-year-old was also charged in Scott County in October with forgery and contempt of court.

Authorities say the 35-year-old was ordered to report to jail for violating a Scott County restraining order. She told authorities she was pregnant with twins that were due in February and didn't report to jail.

Authorities say she later couldn't produce solid evidence that she had given birth to twins.

The St. Paul Pioneer Press couldn't reach Good for comment Wednesday.
