Wild Hire John Anderson To Fill Out Boudreau's Staff
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — The Minnesota Wild have hired John Anderson as an assistant coach on Bruce Boudreau's staff.
The Wild announced the appointment Wednesday, the day after naming Hall of Fame defenseman Scott Stevens as an assistant under the new coach. Anderson and Boudreau were teammates with four different clubs during their playing career, including the Toronto Maple Leafs from 1977-83.
Anderson logged 282 goals and 349 assists in 814 regular-season NHL games. He was head coach of the Chicago Wolves in the AHL the last three years and an assistant in the NHL with Phoenix and Atlanta over the four seasons prior to that.
Rick Wilson and Darryl Sydor, the top two assistants under former coach Mike Yeo and interim coach John Torchetti, have been let go by the Wild.
