Minnesota Wild Hire Stats Specialists For Hockey Operations

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — The Minnesota Wild have hired for their hockey operations department a pair of analytics specialists who co-founded an advanced statistics website.

Wild general manager Chuck Fletcher announced Tuesday the club has brought in Andrew C. Thomas as lead hockey researcher and Alexandra Mandrycky as hockey operations analyst.

Thomas and Mandrycky are co-founders of the website war-on-ice.com, which houses a variety of traditional and modern data summaries on the sport. Thomas is a native of Ontario who has degrees from MIT and Harvard. Mandrycky is a native of Atlanta who graduated from Georgia Tech.

They'll work with Ben Resnick, the Wild's manager of hockey administration for the last four years.
