Rain turns to snow Thursday in Twin Cities ahead of windy Friday

Wednesday night will be a quiet one in the Twin Cities, with temperatures falling back to the mid 20 with a partly cloudy sky.

Thursday will be quiet by day with a high of 46. The wind will pick up from the south and shift from the northwest later on.

There will be heavy snow across northern Minnesota with winter storm watches and warnings, including a blizzard warning.

Most of the precipitation in the metro will fall as rain. There is a chance if the storm sags south, the metro will pick up more snow.

Friday will be raw with cooler temps and a big wind. The next storm arrives Saturday night into Sunday, which could lead to a possible NEXT Weather Alert.
