Weekend cooldown ahead following record-breaking warmth

Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport had a record-high temperature on Friday, reaching 72 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. The previous record was 71 degrees.

A cold front is expected to move through on Friday night and into Saturday. Isolated light rain is possible on Saturday morning. 

High temperatures on Saturday are expected to be in the low 50s. High temps will be in the 40s on Sunday and through next week, with lows dropping below freezing.

A system featuring rain and snow will move through Minnesota on Monday night and into Tuesday morning, through officials aren't anticipating any big impacts.

There's also a chance for rain on Thursday.
