More springlike temps in Minnesota Tuesday, but cooldown, snow ahead

NEXT Weather: 10 p.m. report for Minnesota on Feb. 16, 2026

The Twin Cities will have another springlike day on Tuesday, but temperatures — and precipitation — are set to fall later in the week.

It stays quiet and mild overnight Tuesday in the Twin Cities, with temperatures only falling back to the mid-30s.

An impressive storm arrives late Thursday. It will be warm enough across the southern half of Minnesota for rain, with some isolated rumbles in the evening.

Precipitation will fall as snow up north and it will accumulate. Combined with strong winds, a winter storm watch and warning are currently in play.

The metro may see rain drops turn to snow on Wednesday, but no accumulation is expected.

A better chance of snow across the entire state arrives late Thursday into Friday. The metro could see a few inches out of this storm.

Temps will then drop back to winter levels, with highs looking to stay below freezing this weekend.
