More rain and snow across Minnesota on Friday

NEXT Weather: 5 a.m. report for Minnesota from April 3, 2026

Minnesota will see more messy weather on Friday ahead of a cooler weekend.

Precipitation will begin Friday morning, with light rain for the Twin Cities, but freezing rain and snow possible to the west and north. In the afternoon, expect periods of rain with a few thunderstorms possible to the east and south. Small hail can't be ruled out.

Highs will top out in the 40s, so layer up and bring a raincoat if you're heading to the Twins' home opener in the afternoon.

Colder air will move in overnight, potentially causing the rain to mix or change to snow.

Highs will stay cool through the middle of next week, when we'll get a brief warm-up before another potentially active stretch.
