Minnesota Weather: Hail Pummels Parts Of State In Friday Night Storms

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Parts of Minnesota and western Wisconsin battled fast-moving storms Friday night.

Two clusters of storms moved through the state Friday evening, one just north of the Twin Cities metro and another well up to the north in the arrowhead region.

Residents of St. Cloud and Sauk Rapids were treated to hail that range in size from quarters to baseballs.

Storms moved out of the state and into western Wisconsin by 10 p.m. Temperatures will drop to the 60s Friday night with partly cloudy skies.

Meadows says storms shouldn't be an issue on Saturday. The day should remain dry, including during the Aquatennial fireworks. Temperatures will be a bit warm and muggy.

On Sunday, Minnesotans should stay weather aware as there is a chance for showers and thunderstorms.

The coming week should be calm, cooler, not quite as humid and some sun in the forecast.
