Minnesota Weather: Apparent Tornado Touchdown Investigated In Western Wisconsin
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Things are finally settling down after a stormy Tuesday evening across parts of Minnesota and Wisconsin.
Thunderstorms left Minnesota by late Tuesday night, leaving a trail of damage in their wake. The storms started out as a hail event in southwestern Minnesota and the Twin Cities, then turned into a wind event as they pushed east.
It eventually spawned an apparent tornado that touched down just before 8 p.m. in Elk Mound, Wisconsin, which is about 12 miles northwest of Eau Claire.
Temperatures, and dew points, will drop overnight. The rest of the week will feel like fall, with highs in the 60s. The next chance of rain will come Thursday night.
