How many picks do the Minnesota Vikings have in the 2025 NFL draft?

What will the Vikings do in the first round of the 2025 NFL draft?

MINNEAPOLIS — The 2025 NFL draft is nigh, and Minnesota Vikings fans are eagerly awaiting their team's selections.

While the Vikings added a lot of talent via free agency, they'll need to restock the stores via the draft as well.

In order to do so, they'll need more draft success than they've had in recent years. Unfortunately, their draft pick cupboards are pretty bare this year.

Here's everything you need to know about the Minnesota Vikings' 2025 draft picks.

What picks do the Vikings have in the 2025 NFL draft?

The Vikings currently hold just four picks in April's draft — a first-rounder, a third-rounder, a fifth-rounder and a sixth-rounder.

The overall placement of their picks is 24th, 97th, 139th and 187th.

Did the Vikings get any compensatory picks?

The NFL awards compensatory picks based on a franchise's qualifying free agent additions and losses from the previous offseason. The Viking signed five qualifying players and lost six, according to the NFL.

The Vikings received a third-round compensatory pick (No. 97) to offset the departure of quarterback Kirk Cousins. Theirs was the highest compensatory pick awarded this year.

What happened to the Vikings' other picks? Can they get more?

Last year, the Vikings moved up twice in the first round, sending multiple mid-round draft picks in 2024 and 2025 to the New York Jets and Jacksonville Jaguars to move up to 10th and 17th to draft quarterback J.J. McCarthy and edge Dallas Turner, respectively.

The Vikings sent their sixth- and seventh-round 2025 picks to the Cleveland Browns as part of a trade involving pass rusher Za'Darius Smith.

The Vikings could add more picks via trade either before the draft or during it. This would likely involve trading down from the 24th pick.

What positions could the Vikings target?

The Vikings have no glaring holes on the roster, but could certainly use impact players at multiple positions and depth at other spots.

Despite adding center Ryan Kelly and guard Will Fries, the Vikings could still use help along the interior of the offensive line.

They also added veterans Jonathan Allen and Javon Hargrave at defensive tackle, but a young player to add to the rotation could be a target as well.

A safety or cornerback wouldn't be a surprise, either. Cam Bynum left in free agency, and while the Vikings re-signed Byron Murphy Jr., they could use another corner to play opposite him.

While the Vikings are seemingly stacked with skill players — Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, T.J. Hockenson, Aaron Jones and Jordan Mason make for a formidable group — the offense is the team's strength, and head coach Kevin O'Connell could look to supercharge it with another receiver or tight end.

When is the 2025 NFL draft?

The first round of the draft will be on Thursday, with rounds two and three the next day and the final four rounds on Saturday.

The draft will be hosted in Green Bay, Wisconsin this year.
