Minnesota Veteran Returns To Pearl Harbor On 73rd Anniversary

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A Minnesota veteran returned to Pearl Harbor Sunday to pay respects to the comrades he lost at war on the 73rd anniversary of the Japanese attack.

Don Ollom Sr. is among four of the last eight survivors of the sinking USS Arizona. On Sunday, he laid a wreath at a ceremony at Pearl Harbor.

Veterans at the ceremony, all in their 90s, toasted their shipmates by using champagne glasses from the USS Arizona.

Ollom Sr. was living in South St. Paul when he joined the Marines and currently lives in Long Prairie.
