Twins To Host Kansas City To Open 2017 Season

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minnesota Twins released their 2017 regular season schedule on Wednesday, with just two weeks left in what's been a miserable 2016 campaign.

If you're headed to Target Field for Opening Day, you may want to bring a jacket. The Twins will host the Kansas City Royals for a three-game series, starting April 3. They'll then hit the road for series against the Chicago White Sox and Detroit Tigers. That's right, three divisional opponents to start the season.

The Twins will also play 20 interleague games. They'll have a home-and-home with the Milwaukee Brewers Aug. 7-8, host Colorado May 16-18 and Arizona Aug. 18-20. The interleague road trips include Milwaukee Aug. 9-10, San Francisco June 9-11 and the L.A. Dodgers July 24-26.

The schedule will also feature 44 home games between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
