Minnesota Teen Accepted At All 8 Ivies

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — A Minnesota high school senior has a tough choice ahead after being accepted by all eight Ivy League schools.

Mounds Park Academy says senior Munira Khalif has also been accepted at Stanford, Georgetown and Minnesota.

Khalif is a state speech champion and founder and leader of the school's Social Consciousness Club. She also founded a nonprofit called Lighting the Way that works to make education more accessible for children in East Africa, especially girls. Khalif has also been an ambassador and advocate in Girl Up, a United Nations Foundation campaign aimed at getting American girls to work to improve the lives of youth in other countries.

Khalif says she'll make a school choice by May 1, with plans to major in political science.
