Minnesota Senator Al Franken Makes The Rounds At The Fair

FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn. (WCCO) – Senator Al Franken is making the rounds at the Minnesota State Fair.

On Sunday, he sat down with WCCO's Roshini Rajkumar, the host of News and Views, and talked about the campaign.

"We are heading into the last part of the campaign, and I'd like people to pay attention to what I've done and look at policy," Franken said.

Franken says some of the issues that are concerning to him include funding the government, immigration and international crisis in Ukraine and Syria.

He also says Minnesota is 4th in the country when it comes to the amount of debt college students come away with after school.

"It affects the economy when students come out of college with debt. It delays them buying a home or starting a family, or delays investing in business." he said.

Franken is being challenged by Republican Mike Mc Faden in November.
