Minnesota Orchestra Plays In Cuba For 1st Time Since 1930
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minnesota Orchestra is making history this weekend, becoming the first U.S. orchestra to play in Cuba since the announcement to renew relations with the country.
The orchestra performed Friday night in a packed Havana theater of 2,000 people as part of their International Cuba-Disco Festival.
They played works from Beethoven alongside guest Cuban artists.
It's the first time the Minnesota Orchestra performed there in 85 years.
A second concert is set for Saturday night.
