Minnesota Orchestra Concerts To Showcase Bassoons

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minnesota Orchestra will showcase its bassoon section in three concerts in November.

Conductor Eiji Oue (AY'-gee OH'-way) will return to lead the concerts. Oue was the orchestra's music director from 1995 to 2002.

The concerts will spotlight principal bassoon John Miller Jr. Miller is in his 44th year with the orchestra, and is the longest-tenured principal player ever in the ensemble's history.

Miller will solo in Dietter's Concerto for Two Bassoons, with the second part taken in turn by each of his section colleagues.

The concerts run Nov. 21-23 at Orchestra Hall in downtown Minneapolis. Ticket prices range from $25 to $96.
