Minnesota Orchestra Arrives In Cuba

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Minnesota Orchestra has made it to Cuba.

After 50 years of embargo, this historic five-day trip will make them the first U.S. orchestra to perform in Cuba since President Obama announced plans to restore relations.

They left Wednesday and have arrived safely.

The Minnesota Orchestra will perform as part of Havana's International Cuba-disco Festival on Friday and Saturday.

The orchestra will also be visiting several Cuban music schools while they're there.

Members of the group have been posting pictures on social media as they travel. To follow their adventures, visit the Minnesota Orchestra's Tumblr page.
