MN Moose May Be Added To Endangered Species List

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is considering adding a species of moose found in Minnesota to the list of endangered species.

According to the agency, the northwestern subspecies known as alces alces andersoni -- which is also found in Michigan, Wisconsin and North Dakota -- is currently under their scrutiny.

The service is opening a 60-day comment period, where the public can offer up information that would help them determine whether the species should be added to the list of threatened or endangered species.

Additionally, the service said that they were rejecting a petition to delist the golden-cheeked warbler.
